Taking Time Off......

I will be taking some time off from blogging.....as I had mentioned in a previous post that my mother-in-law is very ill. She was able to come home from the hospital for a few days but was re-admitted early this morning.
I don't know what the out come will be....it is in God's hands. Please remember her in your prayers and thank you so very much for your prayers....it really means a lot to me.

May God Bless Each and Everyone of You!

How Can Anybody NOT Love Fall.........

 Beautiful colors!
Great Weather!
Fall energizes me....kind of like a jump start for the Holidays.
Sometimes we just need these beautiful colors to lift our spirits to help us through the tough times.....God's way to remind us of HIS beautiful creations and that he is always with us!

My mother-in-law has been diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma and they started Chemo treatment Monday....she is doing good and her body is accepting the treatment. Thank you for the prayers and please continue to keep her in your prayers, she still has a long road ahead.

I Wish I Knew Their Names...

These little guys are popping up everywhere....

Our 2 grandsons loved finding these....I could not shoot fast enough to keep up with them!

It totally amazes me of all the beauty lying on the earths floor.......

I always enjoy going on nature hikes with the boys.....they love nature and are very good spotters!

I have a special request....my mother-in-law is in the hospital and she needs a lot of prayer...she returned from a 2 week trip Saturday, visiting her mother who just turned 99 and landed in ICU for a couple of days. We are waiting on test results but the doctors think her cancer is back.
Thank you so much in advance for your prayers and God Bless each and everyone of you!

It's Not What I Thought It Was!

I have been dealing with a rash on the top of my arms now for a week.......
a few other symptoms such as headache, hoarseness, a few heart palpitations (like a flutter).....nothing serious.

I thought it was the Chia Seeds I had started eating in my oatmeal, after about 4 days of eating them I thought I may be allergic to them so I stopped......The rash did not get any better......matter of fact is got worse!

This morning at work I had the worse heart palpitation I have ever had and thought I was going to pass out!
I had enough........what is going on I thought.....so I called my hubby to take me to the ER!

Of course they take lots and lots of blood, EKG, chest X-ray.....all came back great. Long story short....we think its the Veramyst nasal spray I have been using for the past 3 weeks for my allergies.....it seems the steroid in it is my culprit....NO MORE Veramyst for me! Now I just wait for about 3 or 4 days to see if the rash clears up!

I took this shot a couple of years ago......I love this beautiful old Maple tree at my daughters house. I look forward every year to see its beautiful transition in the Fall.

Hope everyone has had a great Monday......Fall in definitely in the air!

What Happened to August......
Is Summer almost gone....
I do wish September could slow down just a bit.....
because when October rolls around......we get so busy with the arrival of  the"holidays"...which I dearly enjoy but they come and go way to fast!
Baby bullfrog my hubby found.....this little fellow was only about 2" long....he is so cute....did I just say C-U-T-E.....I thought frogs are suppose to be ugly.....lets just say not so cute.

We have this huge Barred Hoot Owl and he hangs out in the woods closest to our house...most of the time.
The other night the Hubby & I decided to go Owl Hunting....shooting only with my camera of course....No Luck, but we will try again.

This is the only photo I have of him....
This was like 4 in the afternoon.....which was taken from our kitchen window and cropped.

I will miss Summer but I am looking forward to my "FAVORITE" season of the year....
FALL!

Happy Labor Day!
Our Chicken Theme B-day Party!

 Birthday Party Mascot "Big Red"

We weren't too sure but we went ahead and started setting up outside for the party...ok a few clouds hovered over but the sun would peep through a little.
Taking a few before pics just in case!
We used mason jars for our beverages.....our daughter made the birthday banner, the adorable little stir sticks, & the chicken feed snacks......I am so glad I took these pics!

As we started to take the food out to the tables the bottom fell out......
The few of us...including me....that were outside at the time got soaked grabbing all we could to put under shelter.

The party moved inside!

By the time we finished eating the sun was out and it was beautiful the rest of the day.
Sitting hen cake I made for the party...and of course a snake, bugs and spiders had to be included....which were requested by the boys.

This was a surprise for the party.....
"Chicken Pops"
These "chicken" pops were so easy to make....these are not made from cake (cake pops) these were made from Oreo Cookies & Cream Cheese.
They were a big hit even with the adults!

Our main course was none other than Fried Chicken & Grilled Chicken......don't worry they were not from the boys pet chickens!

The boys had a great party and I think everyone had a great time!
(wonder what the theme will be next year)

WHAT IS IN THE AIR......
"FALL"

We have had several Fall like days lately and while taking a stroll on our property I noticed our Dogwood trees are full of berries.

I love when the seasons go into a transition....God's wonderful way of painting us beautiful pictures. I always get excited about the new refreshed colors to "Capture" beautiful images.

It's Friday.......our short day at work....boy am I glad!

Birthday party tomorrow.......I have the cake fondant made.....I have the 3 cake layers made......I have the Oreo Cookies crushed for the Chicken Pops......
As soon as I get in from work the FUN begins.....assembling the cake and decorating it, make the chicken pops and I still have to bake cupcakes......"NO STRESS HERE"!

Pics will come next week....hope everyone has a great & safe Labor Day weekend!

I had a little help shooting this barn!

I went and stayed with our 2 grandsons for a couple of days and we went for a ride looking for barns. On the way back to the house we spotted this one.

Kelby our almost 10yr old grandson asked if he could shoot it for me.....sure I said, I knew he would do a great job. I started teaching him when he was about 3 yrs old on how to use a camera and bought him his first real digital camera for his 5th birthday.

And of course he could not resist shooting the hay sitting in front of the fence.....

I am very proud of our grandson for doing such a wonderful job!

We had a great time and it was fun having them along spotting things for me to shoot.

Have a great and blessed week!

Remembering my Dad......he would have been 90 yrs young today but on December 26, 2001....God needed another angel....
My Dad, on the left, in his earlier years with a friend.

My Dad with my oldest brother whom also went to be with our Heavenly Father July 1999, he was 48 yrs young.
I do miss them both very much!

My Dad was a very hard working man....never wasted anything. He loved the land (guess that is where I get it) he loved gardening, his family and reading his Bible.

He took his last breath where he loved to be the most....he was outside surrounded by the great land that was created by our Heavenly Father.

A special kind of beauty......
Our oldest grandson who is almost 10 grows these just about every year.......I do think he has a green thumb!
They remind me of something I am always telling our 2 grandsons.......
"You are the sunshine in my life"!

I spent the weekend with the boys and I watched these flowers and shot them at different times during the day. Sunday morning I was up before the sun came up and I went out to check them and they looked as though they were asleep....I did not dare disturb them....their heads held down just waiting for the sun to wake them.

About 30 minutes later as the sun was coming up I check on them again....they were just starting to wake up...heads lifting just a bit.

It wasn't long the sun was shining so full and bright the sunflowers raised their heads and looked as though they were standing straight and tall like a soldier. So strong  but yet so graceful!

Can you believe all this beauty came out of this........

Believe me I could have kicked myself for not taking photos of their awakening....oh well I will know better next time.

Have a wonderful and blessed week!

I am on a "Hunt"
for a new Camera Lens

Which one to buy is the question!
I have a Nikon D60 and have a Nikon 18-135mm lens that I use. I am looking to buy a 70-300mm lens.....should I buy the......
 Nikon
Internet image

Sigma
Internet Image

Tamron

The Nikon of  course is the most expensive but they are top quality and tough made lenses. I have heard the Sigma is better than the Tamron and vice-versa.
My dear sweet hubby has been doing a lot of research on all of these and we are still confused.
There are so many pros & cons on all of them. Some say go with the f/2.8 and some say the f/4-5.6. You also have the G and the ED...some say the G does not have the optical quality that the ED has, then some say there is not much difference.
You can see why we are confused so that is why I am asking for HELP!

I would love some input on these lenses from my great friends in blog-land!

Today is National Book Lover's Day

Of course my #1 Book is the Holy Bible...

I am writing this post while at work....shame on me.....but I am at a slow time right now but not for long. I just don't like to sit and not do something so here I am blogging. This is why I borrowed images from Amazon...hope it's ok to do this....oh well it's done now.

There are so many other books I enjoy reading....
but
here are a few of my favorites.......this don't count my favorite magazines....just books.

I love reading about the work of
Ansel Adams...one of the greatest photographers of all times!

I love reading about the Life of the Amish.....I have several of these books at home and have read some of them more than once. There are so many more great books on Amazon about their lives. One of my favorite authors that write about the Amish is Beverly Lewis.

I need to get to a place to make more time for reading, working full time and working on my photography as much as possible and family time, there is just not enough hours in the day.

Do you have favorite books...I would love for you to share them with us!

God Bless
&
"Happy Reading"
