I Was Lucky to Find This One........

Hubby & I went on a country road trip this weekend...got several good shots of different interest....but I did not think I was ever going to find a barn to shoot. It seems like as much farm land that we found we would have found a lot more barns. I guess they have been torn down or we were just in the wrong place.

I had to show you a close up of these windows on the side of the barn.....I think they are so neat!

I wish I could have gotten a shot of the front but as you can see behind the fence I had several greeters that did not like my presence! I did not want to get too close....if you know what I mean!
I don't know why they have an ADT Security sign in the yard....with 3 dogs that could eat you alive...I don't think anyone will break in!!

A Glorious Day It Is.........

Even though its a little cloudy out today it is a beautiful day...a little relief from the heat.

This is in front of the building where my mom lives....I don't know what this plant is called but they are beautiful and obviously survive in drought conditions.

This is my mom....hi mom!

She loves to cook...she is always cooking up a lot of food and then sharing it with her neighbors.....see her arm bandaged up.....a steam burn (2nd degree) when she was cooking the other day. Mom you must be more careful!

Before & After

I worked on this one for a long time last night....actually I started on it the other night and finished it up last night.

These flowers were sitting so lovely on my kitchen window sill and late in the evening right before the sun goes down I usually get some great shots without window glare. I took some with and without the flash...the ones without flash usually gives me an automatic black (dark) background. I don't know that it makes a difference but my kitchen faces the east.

The below image is where I cleaned up the background and adjusted the saturation to remove the greens and yellows.

I adjusted my Hue/Saturation and added box blur...removed some of the box blur from the main flower for the focal point. I added French Kiss Color Wash Eglantine Texture as Soft Light @ 100%...adjusted the color and painted the texture  off of the flowers. I then added the Vintage message and adjusted the Hue/Saturation, removed the message from areas I did not want it.....
Finished!

I think I need to take detailed notes next time to make it easier....I get so involved in working on my projects I forget to write everything down.

This Barn Houses Many Animals.......

The library where our daughter lives took a group of children to this farm and I got to tag along with my grandsons.....I fell in love with this place and the older couple, who are the owners, was a fantastic host. 

I felt like a kid myself, they had so many cool animals on this farm. I wish I could show you all of the pics I took but it would take me too long to post them all.....I guess you could say I went nuts with the camera!

Beautiful Peacocks everywhere.

It was amazing how friendly and loving all of the animals were.

Now you can see why I had a blast!

Portrait Photo Shoot

Come on I need a Challenge.......I need some Motivation......I need someone to Critique my work.

I  haven't done a lot of  Portrait Photo Shoots....

Here are a few images of one I did back in April for Sheila Pierson.

My love of Photography is Nature of course but I would like to do more Portrait shoots but I feel I need to learn a great deal more about it.

If any of you have any tips please send them to me or if you know of a great tutorial  that would be helpful please let me know about it.

I would really appreciate any of your opinions or suggestions or what you might would have done different in any of the above images.

It Went Up In Flames!

I guess this old Barn served its time, at least the owners thought so......about a month after I snapped this photo the owners demolished it and burned it. It was kind of sad to see it go!

Barn #5

A little different this time...but this is a great Barn!

This Barn belongs to some friends of ours in Middle TN. It was a very old barn about to fall in and and they took and straightened it up and rebuilt using the old structure. It houses several horses but it was also used for a 50th B-day party.
