A special kind of beauty......
Our oldest grandson who is almost 10 grows these just about every year.......I do think he has a green thumb!
They remind me of something I am always telling our 2 grandsons.......
"You are the sunshine in my life"!

I spent the weekend with the boys and I watched these flowers and shot them at different times during the day. Sunday morning I was up before the sun came up and I went out to check them and they looked as though they were asleep....I did not dare disturb them....their heads held down just waiting for the sun to wake them.

About 30 minutes later as the sun was coming up I check on them again....they were just starting to wake up...heads lifting just a bit.

It wasn't long the sun was shining so full and bright the sunflowers raised their heads and looked as though they were standing straight and tall like a soldier. So strong  but yet so graceful!

Can you believe all this beauty came out of this........

Believe me I could have kicked myself for not taking photos of their awakening....oh well I will know better next time.

Have a wonderful and blessed week!

God Bless

  7. Our sunflowers did amazingly well, despite the lack of rain this summer.

I love them -- they capture the essence of the Midwest.

Thanks so much for sharing your images at Your Sunday Best this week, Linda.
